This granola is wonderful and so easy to make! I didn't have maple syrup on hand, so I used an equal amount of honey and it worked very well. I used pecans, but I think almost any type of nut would work well. A great, healthy snack.

My husband is the granola expert in our house having grown up with a mother that made her own. I had my sister-in-law search high and low for my late mother in law's granola recipe with no luck. I came across this recipe and made it for my husband and he loved it!! He said it was even BETTER than his mom's!

Easy and yummy! Used 2 cups of almonds, since my daughter is allergic to other nuts, and a mixed dried berries package from Trader Joe's--golden raisins, blueberries, cherries and cranberries.

Simple and easy to make and it taste really great. I eat 1/2 cup twice a day which helped in lowering my cholesterol better than any medication had. I also found that I no longer have cravings in the middle of the night and my weight is the best that's it's been since my teens.

By far this is the best granola I have ever tasted. What a crowd pleaser! I made this when I had company at my house for several days and everyone loved it. They even asked for the recipe. I don't think it needs to be any sweeter. (I read some reviews which suggested adding honey for more sweetness I only added dried cranberries and almonds - not a coconut fan. Plus, the simpler the better. ENJOY!

I made this for my fiance to take to work, and he said it was the best granola he's ever had. I used 2 containers of mixed nuts and dried fruits, so there was a nice variety.

I love this recipe! This was my first time maiking granola it was easy and quick to throw together. I like that you can alter the recipe and add what you want. I added a little honey and cinnamon as suggested by the other reviews and it tastes great! Instead of vegetable oil I used olive oil but I don't think it changed the taste. My husband and I love Alton Brown's recipes and have not been dissapointed yet!

This is the best recipe for granola I have, and I've made granola over the years from many recipes. It's easy, and one can adapt it according to likes -- e.g., I use dried cherries as well as the cashews. It makes a great gift around the holidays. Alton never disappoints.
