I decided to add all the calories together for this recipe. I used pecans instead of cashews and dropped the raisins. The total calories in this recipe is +/- 3892. I haven't divided it up into cups to see how many cups there are for servings. I usually take about 3/4 cup for a snack at work, and I am guessing I could get around 10-15 servings. That would put the calories per 3/4 cup serving at around 259-389 for 15 servings or 10 servings respectively. Hope this helps someone else watching their calories!

This is an excellent recipe to start with for a base recipe. I use walnuts or pecans instead of the cashews. I also add pumpkin, sunflower, flax or chia seeds to bump up the nutritional content. Sometimes I add some cinnamon. I stick with 1/4 c of the brown sugar, oil and maple syrup and do not add the extra 2 tbsp since we do not like it quite that sweet. Oh yes, sometimes I add dried cherries, dried blueberries or banana chips after the baking process.....the possibilities are endless!!

YUM! So simple and delicious with ingredients I already keep in my pantry! Made this just as is except subbed pecans for the cashews and it is AMAZING! I am making dinner but cannot stop eating the granola. It is addictive. Make a double batch.

SO YUMMY!!! Really great recipe that can be tweaked any way you like to incorporate whatever ingredients you favor. My 3 year old loved it mixed with cheerios. Its not too sweet for me though I did leave out the extra 2 tbls of maple syrup. I LOVE granola but refuse to buy it in the stores as pricing is SO ridiculous!! Now I won't even have to think about it cause I can make my own the way I like it. HAPPY, HAPPY. Try it, you won't be sorry.

Yum yum yum!!!
First time made homemade granola- followed recipe except for last 10 min. I increased temp to 280 degrees. Placed in center of oven. Perfectly brown ,crunchy, sweet... The extra tablespoons of dark brown sugar and maple syrup made it a tad too sweet for me next time I will omit that! I made plain granola to snack, breakfast, or enjoy for dessert addend!
Easy ! Can't beat that!!

Hands down, this is the best granola recipe ever!
I've been making granola for over 35 years, and this one tops them all!

This is the best granola I've tasted yet! Certainly can't eat the processed box stuff ever again. Thanks Alton.

Instead of vegetable oil, I use melted coconut oil. I use a different mixture of nuts each time and I like the nuts fairly chunky, not chopped so much. Easier to snack on! I'll have to try the cinnamon next time!

This was amazing!!!! Used whole raw almonds, chopped pecans, sunflower seeds, unsweetened organic coconut flakes, and golden brown sugar. Added a little more than 1/8 cup each of maple syrup and honey, 1/4 cup light olive oil (reduced so that granola won't be so oily and salt. Cooked for an hour and 15 minutes to a golden brown crisp. After baking, add 1/2 cup dried cranberries and 1/2 cup chopped golden raisins and let it rest. I will pack these up in little bags and give them as gifts to my family.

I wish it was in bigger chunks...any way to do that after cooking it? I want it to be easier to snack on for the kids and bigger pieces for cereal.
