This is the best guac recipe. Very easy to make. Fresh and amazing. Use it by itself or on Fajitas... knock your socks off. I have made this recipe now over a dozen times.

I have made this recipe exactly as written numerous times. It is without a doubt the BEST guacamole I've ever eaten. I have also made it several times with the single substitution of switching out 1/2 of a red onion for 1/2 of the regular onion that the recipe calls for as that is what I had on hand. Both ways are equally good.

I have to agree that this guac is the BEST. However, I disagree about not reviewing if you've changed things. I appreciate knowing about substitutions people make (within reason, of course since at the last minute, ingredients aren't always available.

WOW....I did this recipe under 10 minutes. I didn't add the jalapeno (too spicy for my husband. I also replaced the cumin and cayenne (I didn't have it in the house with Mrs Dash Fiesta Lime Seasoning blend and the recipe still came out so delish! I think coating the avocados with the lemon juice was such a brilliant idea. The avocado's soaked up the flavor beautifully. This recipe will be a hit at my bbq this summer!

Just made this for a crowd tonight. No substitutions. The hit of the night at my taco bar party. Nice job AB. This is why I follow your recipes. Consistency.

I had to make guac for a church function....I checked out this recipe, and will admit, was totally nervous as I had never made it, or even tasted it, before. I got such fabulous reviews by the whole group, that I have been asked to make it several times since. We do not include the onions, tomatoes or jalapenos due to allergies, and increase the cumin, cayenne and lime juice slightly...and we just LOVE it...

Thank you, Alton Brown. This is the best guacamoleweI have ever tasted. The combination of cayenne and cumin gives it a wonderful flavor. We like the garlic, cilantro, and jalapeño diced very, very small compared to the onion and tomato.
