Thank you, Alton Brown. This is the best guacamoleweI have ever tasted. The combination of cayenne and cumin gives it a wonderful flavor. We like the garlic, cilantro, and jalapeño diced very, very small compared to the onion and tomato.

So yummy! I've never made my own guac before but I'm glad it turned out so well!

My apologies to the recipe purists, but I have that "I can't tolerate cilantro" gene. Made this sans cilantro....wow! It's the spiciest guac I have ever made and tastiest. Followed the recipe exactly, with the exception of cilantro.
Cilantro lovers, follow the recipe as published. Those who can't deal with cilantro, you won't regret making this guac without that herb.
    Yummo!

Absolutely delish just the way it is written. Has a bit of a kick which is probably why we love it. Have made it several times and its soooo good. I also have to agree with the others...don't post a review if you've modified this for your own personal preference... it, it's really unfair to the original recipe.

This is THE perfect guac recipe. No substitutions or changes necessary. And I have to agree with one of the other reviewers: if you are changing this recipe in any way, shape or form, then don't review it, as you are not reviewing this particular recipe but rather your own. So if you must change it, fine. Just keep it to yourself.

This came out very well. I used twice as much garlic and cilantro and used a bit more jalepeno as well.

Easy and tasty, just as guacamole should be. A word of advice for other reviewers. If you change multiple ingredients in a recipe, you're not making the same recipe, so don't review it. I hate reading reviews that read like this: "great recipe! I just used lemon instead of lime, didn't use the cilantro or the jalapeno, substituted a can of tomato sauce for the fresh romas and used curry instead of cumin. Alton Brown did it again!". How lame. If you're going to modify the recipe greatly, don't bother reviewing it, and save the rest of us from having to read your post.

This is my one and only guac recipe. I cannot tell you how many people have asked for the recipe. We add a bit more cayenne because we like the heat. I also omit the garlic, it is just a personal taste. Not a big fan of raw garlic. It is such a unique and wonderful flavor, everyone will love it.
