This is the best recipe for guac I've ever tried. It's easy with just the right amount of heat. (I'm not a fan of lame, bland guac-it should have a little fire. My husband & I love it & it's always a hit when I make it for parties!

Even those who don't love guac love this. I simplify it occasionally by using minced garlic from a jar and/or lime juice from a bottle (about 2-3 T. Obviously it's not as fresh then, but everything else in it is fresh and the cayenne masks the garlic anyways. If you're not actually using large Haas avocados it can get a little spicy, so make sure to use good sized ones, or use one extra. You could use less cayenne... but why wouldn't you want to just make a little more guac?

I used a little extra cayenne, we like spice. It turned out just perfect & very fresh tasting, much better than the mexican resturants.

it's as delicious as it is easy. one problem: stop ordering quacamole when you go out to a restaurant...it will never measure up to alton's.

I'll put this recipe up against any restaurant's. I don't care for cilantro leaves, so I added 1/2 teaspoon of ground coriander instead. I also added 1 1/2 Tablespoons of mayonnaise to bump up the creaminess (sorry to the purists out there. Perfection.
