Aloha Alton and ALL! I am SO HAPPY I saw this show yesterday and had taped it. The new series is fun and as usual highly informative I always learn something new. My mother made the best Caesar Salad and I have not found a recipe for it to equal hers. I believe this one does. Can't wait to try it. However I remember her just breaking the eggs into the salad no coddeling. But perhaps she had coddeled them and I did not see as a child. She was such a fantastic chef and guests raved about her food at cocktail and dinner parties. I wish she was one to have allowed me to be in the kitchen and learn instead of always shooing me away. I too love anchovies and so would serve them on the side were I to make it for guests. For myself I'd add a whole can! But my husband does not like them either. I wish there was a e mail address to write to Mr. Alton Brown to say the many Thank You's for this recipe and the show. Yours most sincerely, Antoinette Jackson

So much fun to serve & such a contrast to what you get when you order a Caesar Salad at a restaurant (at least in my price range.

What a cool way to prepare a salad. The romaine lettuce prepared this way looked beautiful. Thanks, Alton!!!

Re: "What No Anchovies" -- if you were really a foodie, you would know that this recipe DOES HAVE ANCHOVIES -- Worcestershire sauce is made from anchovies.

I saw this episode years ago and if you just follow the instructions and the right technique, you should get a fabulous salad. I know I did.

Best salad ever if you follow the recipe. The croutons are crunchy bits of heaven. I also added anchovies on the side...I admit I tried this once with store bought bought croutons and it was 'meh', so make the effort and do the croutons if you want it to deliver!

Great tasting as long as you have a crouton in each bite. If not - the dressing really needs some anchovy and garlic.

What know anchovies! You can't call it a true Ceasar with out the anchovies, or at least make it optional.

This is the only poor rating I have gave for an AB recipe. If you are in need of gluten free recipe and wish to omit the crouton then this will leave you with a terrible dressing. All the garlic is in the croutons and not the actual dressing. the dressing itself is shamefully bland. Alton, this is all wrong!
