Made this for football watching yesterday. Huge hit! Had to make a second batch as the first had disappeared by middle of first quarter. I added a splash of hot sauce along with the crushed red pepper flakes. Served it in a hollowed out sourdough bread bowl, using the bowl "innards" (toasted along with toasted homemade pita chips for dipping.

Beautiful color, fantastic taste. Better than any restaurant appetizer! Use this as a base and then add more of whatever you prefer. I, too, could not find frozen artichokes but the canned ones worked just fine. I also added more red pepper. Absolutely cannot go wrong with this one.

Absolutely fabulous!! It was a great, easy appetizer for girls night at my house. And chardonnay really does go well with it. Love the wine pairing suggestions.

I am always looking for a great spinach/artichoke dip recipe. This one was just ok for me. the flavor was awesome, but it was not as creamy and full of that ooey cheesy goodness. I was not able to find frozen artichokes so I also used 1 can of quartered artichokes. Next time I will add more sour and some mozarella cheese or monterey jack cheese to it and on top.

This is by far the best spinach artichoke dip. Its easy to make, it's texture is very creamy and the seasoning is perfect. Alton you've done it again.

Perfect. Used canned artichoke hearts to make it even faster.

Thought this was a good dip. I made it a day ahead of my event and heated it up at 350 for 25 minutes. Added lemon juice and topped with crumbled bacon. Will keep this recipe on file for sure.

My cousin makes this for our get togethers, and when she leaves, the dish is empty! I think it would be good with 3/4 tsp red pepper flakes myself. She puts the cheese on top, so it makes it look pretty, and gives it a different texture. I would reccomend it to anyone, even if they didn't like spice 'cause they can alwayas leave it out! Mmm...

Loved it! Used 8oz cream cheese instead of 6oz, and 2 fresh garlic cloves (minced instead of garlic powder. Only used 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes. After following the recipe and putting everything hot into one bowl, topped it with more parmesan cheese and baked in the 350 degree oven for 10 minutes. Such an easy recipe and everyone loved it!
