I love kheer (indian rice pudding and have yet to find an authentic tasting recipe. I did like the texture of the rice. I had not seen a recipe that called for the rice to be cooked separately and that made it tun out much better. This had too much of a coconut flavor and not enough cardamom flavor. Also I didn't like how the powdered cardamom turned out. It would have been better made with carsamom pods.

Thank you Alton for such a simple but YUMMMMMMY sweet dish! I served it to my 15 month old daughter for breakfast and she LOVED it!! I didn't have any cardamom so I used cinnimon and it was just perfect. I will make some as the recipe calls next time : Thanks again!

Very easy to make and so delicious. The cardamonn does something magical to this rice pudding. It is now my dessert of choice to make.
    Thanks Alton!

This stuff is great tasting and simple. It's good for dessert or for breakfast. It is especially nice afer a very spicy meal (Indian?. So easy but just be sure not to substitute and use fresh pistachios - mine were a little stale and couldn't stand up to the rich creaminess and heavenly cardamom.

This tasted really great! My only complaint was that it wasn't thick enough.

This recipe is perfect for those who likes their rice pudding not too sweet nor too creamy and a bit exotic!
