Thank you, Alton! With your help, I have conquered, my nemesis, the pancake! I've been cooking, & baking for years, but for some reason, a tasty, fluffy pancake has always eluded me. This recipe not only provided the classic pancake flavor, but most importantly, the texture that I was looking for.

Yum! This recipe is so easy to make. I halved the recipe because I didn't want to store anything and just wanted to try it out. I did not use any berries, added some vanilla extract, other than that I stuck to the recipe. Delicious!

We love this recipe; it's so easy and versatile. I sometimes substitute a yogurt/milk combo for the buttermilk (don't always have the buttermilk on hand. We generally make chocolate chip pancakes, so we don't need extra sugar, but often add vanilla extract to complement the chocolate chips.

My batter comes out way too thick so I add extra milk and also some sparkling water until it's a thin enough consistency to pour. For flavor, I also add vanilla and extra sugar. BEST PANCAKES EVER. Better than restaurant pancakes, even. I use wheat flour and can't even tell that it isn't white. You are my go to chef for reliably great recipes - thanks, Alton!!!!!!!!!!!

My husband went into utter shock when he ate these-he was speechless! These were the best pancakes we have ever had!! They are light, fluffy, moist but NOT gummy, and buttery! He said that the pancakes I used to make (from a store bought mix, add water & stir tasted heavy, gummy, dense, and had an "artificial" taste to them. These were tasty, fresh, satisfying, easy to make, and didn't sit in our stomachs like a lead brick leaving us wanting to sleep! Made the recipe exactly as directed...the "perfect" pancakes - FINALLY!! Thank you, Alton!

Thease pancakes are light and fluffy with just the right Tang from the buttermilk;
P.S. You may have to add a little more buttermilk to get it to the right consistency.You want it to flow to a round shape.

I'm the "best cooker" in the world to my young grandchildren because of this recipe. I keep the mix on hand, and this is my treat to them whenever they come for breakfast. Wonderful flavor and fluffy texture and so easy. Grandchildren can help stir and then "catch" the pancakes on a plate when I flip them from the stove. Excellent recipe. Thanks, Alton.

Fluffy, great taste, awesome recipe. Alton hasn't lead me wrong yet. I added an extra tablespoon of sugar like others commented on in their reviews, but the rest I followed to the letter. I nestled fresh blueberries in them and the pancakes were amazing!

I love this! The recipe helps shorten the time for making real buttermilk pancakes and the taste cannot be beat. Thanks, Alton!

Wow! These were soooo much lighter and fluffier then my old pancake mix! And that one wasn't so bad in itself! Before, I was using one of Tyler Florences. The ingredients were almost the identical but Tyler's were somehow so much denser and hard.
These also came out looking so pretty, like on the picture on the box of pancake mix. I used a large saute pan and dropped them into a pan with 1/3 cup measuring spoon.
I left them for four minutes on one side and two to three minutes on the other side and they came out nice and golden. It made 6 large sized pancakes. My niece who is such a picky eater loved these. I sprinkled chocolate chips on top.
This is my new go-to recipe for pancakes!
