This recipe was easy and wonderful. I made substitutions to make it dairy-free with part Silk and part apple cider vinegar, instead of buttermilk, and it was still great.

DELISH!!!! Like the poster said before, the batter was a bit thick, I added more buttermilk to thin it out slightly. Actually the thickness gave me nice thick fluffy pancakes. I also added some good quality vanilla as well. These are my VERY FAVORITE pancakes, and my family's too. Will not buy boxed again. And Alton............you are my fav. I miss your show Good Eats. It was a great show, and educational. Bring it back foodtv!

Thanks again Alton. Your the man!! I slightly modified this to make it a bit easier and healthier. Changed the AP to White whole wheat, put buttermilk powered in and when I made it I cut the butter in half.

These are very tasty, and I think I just found our new pancake mix.... yea I know about time I found this. LOL!

Great recipe! It's my go-to. A few modifications I've made over the last couple of years:
1 a tsp of vanilla 2 Keep the egg whites separate from the buttermilk. whip them separately and add the resulting "meringue" after the flour's been added. Makes for wonderful loft in the final product and finally 3 for longer term storage of the mix, put it in the freezer! Works nice if you want to make larger batches and keeps it longer.

Great! Add the blueberries to the pancakes after ladling the batter onto the griddle.

I HAVE USED THIS B4 VERY GOOD JUST LIKE BISQUICK.I RECENTLY MADE SOME USING V8 TROPICAL SMOOTHIE PINA COLADA AS A LIQUID INSTEAD OF MILK.I ALSO BAKED THEM ON A GREASED FOILED COOKIE SHEET PLACED THE MIXTURE ON THERE BAKED AT 350 FOR ABOUT 25 MINUTES THEY WERE SO DELICIOUS EASIER THAN STANDING THERE MAKING THEM 1 BY ONE.I CUT THEM IN2 SQUARES & ALSO FREEZED SOME.THEY REMINDED ME OF JOHNNY CAKES.ALSO I NOTICED IF YOU ADD A TABLESPOON OF CLUB SODA WATER THAT MAKES THEM LIGHT AND FLUFFY & RISE MORE 2.

I have NEVER tasted such FANTASTIC white pancakes!!! I can hardly believe how fluffy they turn out. I usually go for whole grain pancakes for the flavor, but I will use this recipe often. I couldn't stop eating them!! I am going to try this with whole grain flour and see how they come out.

These pancakes are soooo good! Super lite and fluffy! By far the best pancakes I've ever made.
