Oh my gosh, so good, but if you are going to grind the spices yourself, get a good sifter, because the grinder does not always grind everything. I also broiled the chicken because I did not have a good grill and it worked fine. I am making this again!

I went and bought the ingredients for this the moment i finished watching the video lol. Sadly, it is somewhat difficult where i live to buy anything other than already ground spices :( Still it turned out pretty good if i do say so myself (i just grilled the meat - chicken in my case - no cutting open flower pots for me. I also didn't have Cardamom, but used 2 tablespoon of Paprika instead. I was tempted to try and add a little bit of dark (80-90% chocolate (or coco powder, or maybe some coffee... maybe next time

(and yes i did say chocolate and coffee, i kid you not

I was tempted to purchase garam masala until I watched Alton prepare it. Safeway had all of the whole spices except for cardamom, which I purchased at Williams-Sonoma. Preparation was simple and the whole house smelled amazing for hours. I used a heavy cast iron skillet and a coffee grinder. I'm storing the garam masala in a re-used glass spice jar. I made a label to ensure it will not be confused with other spices. I used the garam masala to prepare aloo matar. It was delicious.

Nearly perfect -- next time I'll add a splash of 1/2 and 1/2 instead of coconut milk. Maybe it's just me, but the coconut milk made it a bit too sweet and didn't go as well with this Indian style dish as it might a more Thai-style curry.

Very very good!! Have made it a few times using store bought Garam Masala and broiled the lamb instead of grilling it. Turned out great I pair this dish with Bobby Flay's basmati rice with peas!

This is so good and easy. The seeded pepper has not heat at all; my young kids loved it too.

So this weekend I stopped by my favorite Indian Food Truck for some wonderful Tikika Masala. I was fantastic but I always felt a bit bad spending so much. So today I decided to make it for myself! It wasn't hard at all. I substituted habaneros for serranos, hey I like it hot! I also added a bit of hatch chili powder when the onions were cooking.

I just cooked the lamb on the stovetop instead of AB's contraption and it turned out great still.

I say give this a try if you like Indian food... it's awesome!

I subbed in beef for lamb and it was fantastic. Exactly like the tikka masala at my favorite Indian restaurant! Next time I think I might try tomato puree in place of the diced tomatoes, but only because I tend to pick out the tomato skins.

I really love this recipe.I am an avid lover of Indian food, but my family wasn't. This recipe is very good for people wanting to try Indian food, but worried about too much heat. My husband did not like Indian food at restaraunts, but after having this, has opened his mind to trying other things. Thanks Alton!

We made this with chicken and it was deliciouss. Want to try it with lamb next time I'm sure it will be even better! Want to thank Alton for all the really neat bits he presents on Good Eats. I have learned so much from watching that show that I've never seen on any other cooking show. You're one of a kind~!
