This recipe is good and bad. It tastes wonderful but like other viewers said, the filling is too runny. I mixed cornstarch and water and added that to the filling until it was the consistency I wanted.

I made this pie for the first time today and based on all the comments a decided to use a little less lemon juice and a bit more cornstarch. I used about 1/2 cup of cornstarch and close to 1/3 cup of lemon juice. I had no problems with firmness and was able to eat the pie with a fork about an hour and a half after it came out of the over, and it was still warm.

This is one of the best (and easiest pies that I have ever made. After the fist pie (which my hubby raved about we ended up making about 8 with in the next 2 weeks. Now I have to exercise it all off!!!!!

I had my reservations on trying to make a lemon meringue pie myself but this recipe is great. I followed his recipe and it gave me the perfect pie. My family loved it!

I loved it and so did the whole family. It does taste like the kind my grandma use to make...I'll never use another recipe for lemon meringue pie...

I was a little hesitant to try this recipe after reading the other reviews, but I had to trust Alton on this one. I did increase the cornstarch to 1/2 cup but otherwiase followed the recipe exactly. The pie was fantastic! Great lemony flavor and it set up nicely, not runny at all. My sons were asking me to bake another one the very same day!

I just made this pie, actually, 2 of them for Easter. Was so excited. They looked perfect. Until i cut into them!! Lemon soup! I've read alot of the feedbacks re: this recipe. Seems alot of folks are having this problem. Went on line & alot of people say to cook the water/cornstarch/sugar mixture for more like 3-4 mins & cook longer after the eggs are added. Why doesn't Alton fix his recipe!????
