As a Cuban addicted to Cuban Coffee, I have always found regular coffee disgusting... Until I made this. SOOOO YUMMY!! Love my French Press.

Please remind me of the 'grind' setting recommended. I remember the line that cooking time was sacred, but to adjust the grind slightly for desired strength.
I remember another trick he showed using a chopstick. Remember to use it as a nucleation point for the bubbles when microwaving up the water to boiling. Pour in amount of water to cover the grinds, stir (with chopsick and then add remaing water, stir again.
Great thing about Food Network is having the complete process steps. Recipes should be at that level to be excellent.
I'm experiminting in the smaller 1/2 size press, and will comment back.

Why is the salt needed? I have used a French press for years and have never come across salt as an ingredient to use with coffee.
Might it have to do with reducing astringency? In many countries a bit of salt is added to citrus drinks to reduce the acidity (keep in mind that "acidity" in coffee is desired but very misunderstood.

Anyone know what kind of Burr grinder he used in this episode?
