He really has a thing for kosher salt, huh? I prefer coarse ground sea salt, works just as good here. Thanks Alton for the new cooking method though!

Simple, easy, and delicious fried eggs. I still prefer the flip method without a lid to make fried eggs, but when I am half awake in the morning this is the best way.

I first saw my soon-to-be father-in-law make these eggs on Christmas morning a few weeks ago. I went online to find a new way to make eggs this morning and up came this receipe... now I know where he got it. I tried it and love it! I had just gotten good at flipping my eggs over easy but this is MUCH easier so this is how it shall be done going forward! Thanks Alton and Mr.J!

I used to make eggs sorta like this, just used a little water and sort of steamed them - probably has a real name. These turn out better though, the water would always make it the the plate somehow, but these were perfect.

This was such a breakthrough for us. I would NOT fry eggs for anyone except myself because of my fear of breaking the yolk while turning them. Now after experimenting with the times needed for the different preferences (easy over or medium done this method with the lid works perfectly every time. We both watch Alton's show and love it.

I always hated flipping the egg in fear of busting the yolk. Thank you Alton for showing me this simple way of cooking an egg! Who would think? Just never thought to put a lid over it. My husband loves them this way!!! and so do I! They even taste better this way!

After watching the episode where Alton made these egss, I had to try it to see if my egg turned out like his. It was perfect!

I don't know if the lid makes a difference (would it turn out the same without the lid? but 3 minutes did the trick. Cooking eggs this way - is this what you call sunny side up eggs?
