Definitely the BEST margarita I have ever had.

I will never buy a 'pre-made' mix again.

High-quality tequila is an absolute must for this recipe.

Used triple sec instead of orange, only three limes 2 squeezed made over 1/2 cup of juice and the mulling one with the necter i had to add three jiggers necter, three jiggers tequ and 4 jiggers of tripple sec made a 12 oz margarita, would like to know how much lime/orange juice you can expect from the fruit and then put in the other ingredients preportionalty as i have a auto juicer and it rings out the limes very well. But it tasted wonderful can really tell a difference from the mix as i only use sweetened lime juice in mine anyway but if i had the orange instead of the triple sec i think it would have been less bitter all in all a great drink!!!!

Wow! This was awesome! Very fresh and delicious. I used a bit more agave syrup (about 1/2 tbsp because I like it on the sweet side, and only 1/4 of a large valencia orange. What a margarita is supposed to taste like!

Nice & simple. I add frozen mangoes or strawberries that i freeze when in season, delicious! Sometimes I use a simple syrup (1 cup sugar, 1 cup water, a few coins of ginger and a few slices of mango. Boil, cool and strain instead of the agave to give it a richer flavor. I love Alton's recipes.

This is an amazing recipe. I hate tequila generally, but my parents said it was amazing and since it was Alton, I decided to try. 100% the best Margarita I've ever had. AB, another win!

This is literally an unbelievable recipe. I was completely skeptical of this being worth anything at all. I'm a margarita purist, and almost never enjoy them at restaurants. They are always too sweet, or not fresh enough. But this is a winner. It's fresh tasting, smooth, tart with a hint of sweet. It's pretty damn near perfect. My only dilemma is how to share this with friends. It's not exactly conducive to entertaining, as it won't scale up easily. But if you're determined, I'm sure It will be worth it. I'm gonna try to figure out how to serve these at the superbowl party I'm attending. Thank you AB, I should know better than to question your genius.

Yum -I have been looking for a healthier margarita recipe and this is it ! With slight modifications it is still FABULOUS and not so labor intensive. I have a single serving cocktail shaker and add ice cubes, tequila, agave nectar, juice from 1 lime (halve and squeeze into the shaker, juice from 1/2 orange (again, just squeeze into shaker, shake until chilled and pour into a glass rimmed with salt (I wet the rim with the lime or orange. Not too tart or sweet and no High Fructose Corn Syrup or all of the junk in the store mixers.

These are fine margaritas. But I suspect AB was edited a bit by food network, 2 oz tequila is insufficient, I went with 5 oz and was happy. I think I would slice the limes for muddling, they squished around quite a bit. Very happy with the agave though. Do you think I could make the mix in a big batch and freeze in ice cube trays, then when I just must have the marg add tequila and the mix ice cubes?
