I didn't follow this recipe exactly but it's such a great and easy base and tasted soooooo goood. I didn't have shitaki mushrooms so after sweating the onions, I added a little salt, pepper and cumin and also added half a bag of morningstar veggie crumbles. Once that cooked, I added the baby bella/cremini mushrooms. My other modification was that I used half sour cream and half milk (next time will only use milk. Finished off the filling w/ mozzarella cheese. For the crepe, I followed the provided recipe and added some italian seasoning and Trader Joe's 21 seasoning salute to the batter. Great aroma! Lastly, I didn't make a cake but made individual crepes. I filled each crepe w/ the stuffing and a little sauce then drizzled sauce over the wrapped crepe. Even my mom LOVED these and she never loves anything! SOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOD! Thanks Alton!

This was phenomenal! I added pork sausage to the recipe and it was great! We made mini crepes so everybody had their own mini crepe cake. WONDERFUL DINNER

I tasted a phenomenal mushroom crepe in London and I was super enthusiastic to give this a shot. Followed the recipe exactly. It did not even come close; in fact, I couldn't even stomach it. My husband, on the other hand, didn't think that it was bad and ate my portion as well - Not sure if he was being polite. Overall, not a fantastic recipe and I would not make again.

I made this crepe cake to take to work. We had a Gourmet Breakfast in honor of our boss. It was her Birthday, during lent. She gave up sweets and meat for lent. So since she couldn't have a cake I made this Crepe Cake. This was the first time I've made it and it went over very well. She couldn't get over the many layers of goodness. Everyone wanted the recipe. The first couple of crepes were a challenge to make because they are not your typical ordinary crepe. They are much more delicate. For the herb, I used fresh sage. The savory flavor went very well with the mushrooms. Everyone wanted the recipe.

This is a great little recipe - nice for dinner w/ a salad and white wine - or even as an appetizer. I will use a mix of mushrooms, whatever I'm in the mood for or even just nice white mushrooms. The recipe is great with gruyere cheese and using sour cream instead of milk (sort of like a mushroom stroganoff.

This crepe cake is delicious. Truly worthy of 5 stars. Absolutely the best savory mushroom dish I've ever eaten.

The parmesan on top made the cake hard to cut, but it gives the cake a crispy extra detail.
I added cumin in the mushroom sauce, which taste wonderful.

I have never tried crepes before, but was impressed with the quiche recipe. I only caught half the show and tried the recipe (ended up making the mushroom cake and every one of them came out perfect. Great show with a bit of levity to intimidating recipes : Having dessert crepes tonight
