I wish I could rate it higher. I have made it several times over the past year and it turns out perfect every time. My family and friends love it!

We have tried a number of fried mac and cheese recipes over the years and none of them were worth eating... until this one. We didn't have the crumbs so we double dipped in the flour and egg wash. They were crispy, golden and not the least bit greasy. Can't wait to have them again!!

Fives stars without a second thought. Must confess to substituting crushed Rice Chex for the panko bread crumbs, So simple and delicious. Better than the mac and cheese main course from last night. Hooray for Leftovers!

Fun way to treat leftover macaroni. Did this in the pan with bacon grease, and it was very flavoful.

So yummy!! Reheating in the microwave is not good, they are soggy. I reheated our by frying them for about 30 seconds and they were as crispy as the day I made them.

I tried making these after I had about a million pounds of leftover macaroni and cheese. While the recipe wasn't too difficult to follow, these came out just wayyyy too greasy for me. I could only eat a couple of them before my stomach just felt totally gross. I think next time I would just pan fry them with cooking spray instead of trying to fry-fry them.

What's not to love? I first had fried Mac and Cheese at a bowling alley in Louisville, and was in love! This recipe can also be made similarly, but baked. Just make as directed, spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray, place balls on sheet and coat generously with cooking spray. Put in a 350-375 degree oven for 20 minutes, or until golden. They don't quite compare to the fried version, but you may find reason to enjoy it more often with a little less guilt ;

We love this recipe but always feel it lacks seasoning. This time I tried adding the cayenne pepper to the mac n' cheese while baking it, along with a little cumin and salt and pepper. Then made the recipe as shown. Delicious. We served it with sour cream for dipping.
