Batter came out runny and waffles were flat! Looks like it was my error. I woke up and wanted to try something different so I didn't read the reviews. I will try it again with the proper conversions.

Best. Wattles. Ever. These are so light and crispy, so unlike the baking mix waffles of my childhood that sit in your stomach like a rock. I make a double batch and freeze some to be heated up in the toaster later in the week. Fabulous!

Wet, rainy morning here that just cried out for waffles and I wanted to try these anyway. I totally followed the recipe and they were heavenly. I ate two and froze the rest, can't wait for breakfast again. I think toasting the oatmeal is key to the delicious flavor so don't skip this step, but be careful cause they will burn quickly. I often find Alton's recipes way too complicated or labor intensive but this one isn't too bad and certainly worth the effort. Loved them!

Thank you for another healthy and delicious breakfast option. I have been making your awesome pancakes for years now and my family just raves over how fluffy and tasty they are! These waffles are very similar, yet higher in protein, which is important to me. I think I will try using honey instead of sugar, and adding vanilla, as others have suggested. The soy milk vs. buttermilk makes me curious to try, but I hate to mess with the "magic" of this waffle too much!

I love this recipe! Not too sweet and not "eggy". We dropped a small handful of chocolate chips in the batter- my daughter loved it.
The weight measurements are a little tricky- followed previous reviewer conversions.

I like to make a bunch in advance and freeze them for my daughter's breakfast, so I was happy to find a healthy version. I did weigh my dry ingredients since I happen to have a scale....I did burn the oatmeal the first time and had to go back to the store for more....so I skipped the toasting and went right to the grinder. Turned out great!

This is my favorite waffle recipe! They are delicious and feel lighter than other waffle recipes. I love the fact that contains oatmeal, and my kids don't even know. My boys (7&4 always eat 2 waffles and sometimes more ;0 After making these waffles at home it is hard to find a good breakfast place that offers tasty and healthy waffles.
    Thank you Alton!

This is the best waffle recipe I've found. The grandkids LOVE these waffles. I throw some steel cut oats in for crunch. Thank you Alton!

AB did it again with these incredibly delicious waffles. I don't buy Old Fashion Oats, instead I used Steal Cut (from Trader Joe's, which I don't think hurt this recipe one bit. My entire family loved these waffles and have asked that I make them again soon. Thanks Alton!!!
