DO IT BY WEIGHT. We didn't and the cookies began to carmelize. The next time we weighed everything and they tasted delicious :

I forgot to add the raisins. (I don't like them anyway. we are gluten free... and this is a fab recipe. straight from the oven they were incredible. After a bit they did get more crisp but still so tasty. They did not flatten out. Part of it is the seasoning - i buy some really wonderful cinnamon and that just pops in this recipe. DO IT BY WEIGHT. I had to read the reviews to make sure on that so thought i'd spell it out in this review as well. Other than the raisins I followed it to a tee and I rarely do that w/ a recipe but mixed it exactly as indicated (X min in processor, X min blending etc. Will be making again and again. Oats for dinner today!

These are KILLLER, but this is the wrong recipe...somehow, they loaded two on here by mistake-Doh! Do a search, and both will come up. The one that has the episode that hooked us all on these "Oat Cuisine II" is referenced in the top, so you'll know you have the right one! One egg, less vanilla, as others have said. And they still omitted the whole "soak the raisins in rum" part, which makes it, in my opinion. If you are opposed to the idea of the rum, I would still soak them in warm water so they plump up a bit (discard any remaining liquid before adding to the cookies, which really improves their texture.

Very, very good. I cooked them until they were crispy like in the show, rather than making them chewy, and they turned out amazing. Although, I used chocolate chips instead of raisins.

The homemade oat flour gives these cookies a sinful texture that is firm enough to keep the cookie together, yet delicate enough for little if any resistance when you bite into them. The whole oats offer a magnificent and satisfying crunch which plays nicely with the rum soaked raisins. This will be my go-to oatmeal cookie recipe henceforth. Make these now!

We made the recipe as it is here except we used dry cranberries and chocolate chips in place of the raisins. They were really good. They have a nuttier flavor than our regular recipe. I don't know if they are dry after they cool off because we freeze them individually like Alton showed how and only bake as many as we are going to eat. Then we eat them warm.

Nice recipe. I added a 1/4 cup of bread flour per the TV show to add gluten. Raisins without rum and chopped pecans. Very good. Not much spreading in the batch i made. I gave the 2nd and 3rd sheets a little smoosh prior to the oven. No complaints from wife and kids.

We made this recipe tonight, we did make it a little lighter by adding light butter and splenda brown sugar. We followed the recipe that we saw on the show, which called for 1 tsp of vanilla and 1 egg, everything else is the same. This cookie was very good, we added dried cranberries and raisins (not soaked in rum and although it was a bit sweeter than I think the regular recipe would be, it was still very delicious and moist.

Recipe as written seemed fine till the baking: Flat. added some flour and they seem to be fine. I think the previous poster is right - they copied it wrong online, follow the recipe in the actual show.

    It was reallllly good!!
I did have to modify it a little bit, mostly because of the above reviews, I did add about 1/4 cup of flower to the dry ingredients, also an extra egg at the end because it seemed a little dry, when it says to toast the oats BE CAREFUL! everytime I looked away it started smoking!! I had to toss out the burnt part but once I turned it down to about 310 it was much better!!
over all with a few tweeks it was much better!
