This dip was tremendous. Very subtle flavor - you get a good mix of chip and dip

Okay, this was amazing dip. I left out the mayo and it was still really good. Next time I think I'll try adding the mayo and letting the onions brown a little bit longer. I REALLY liked it with raw veggies too. Next potluck at work, I know what I'm bringing - yummmmmmmmmmmm....thanks Alton!!

First taste of this I wasn't sure, since it's just flat out different from the sour cream/soup mix dip we're all used to. It's delicious, though - really creamy and great with chips. I would definitely make this again. I'd like to try it with a better garlic powder though - my cheapo stuff gave it a slightly weird flavor.

This is the best onion dip, my family won't let me come over on holidays or events without asking for it and getting heat for it if I don't have it.

I come from a family of onion dip lovers. This by far is the best onion dip I've ever eaten. I found my mother eating it with a spoon. I used garlic salt and a little onion powder in place of the garlic powder and kosher salt.

Be sure to double the amount of onions, and allow flavors to meld overnight for incredible results.

I have made this with Maui and Texas sweet onions and the flavor is incredable. Another fine Good Eats recipe.
