Best onion dip I have ever had and since it is extremely easy to make I don't think I will ever buy it from the store again!! You really need to let it refrigerate for at least 24 hours before serving to let the flavors meddle. The dip gets better and better over a few days.

I made this for a holiday party and it was absolutely devoured! You MUST make it a couple of days in advance; I tasted it right after I made it, and it was below average. After sitting for two days, it was amazing--much better than my favorite store-bought brand of onion dip!

It has a very heavy oily taste, not one of the party guests liked it. We had a ceremonial
disposer ceremony which all did enjoy.

Almost as easy as opening a container AND much tastier. It gets better the longer it sits. I caramelized my onions in garlic infused olive oil and it's amazing. I can't stand mayonnaise, but didn't taste it at all. SO good.

Easy to make, just be patient to carmelize the onions. Every member of my family loved this dip, and all wanted the recipe. I'll make it part of my regular "go tos"... I added a little more garlic powder and pepper than specified...you can easily adjust to you taste.

Easy and tasty. Definitely make it the night before so that the flavors mix together well.

I probably have tried every onion dip out there and found this to be my ultimate favorite. I used to think Ina Garten's pan fried onion dip was the best, but Alton's dip has the perfect creamy texture. This recipe is a keeper!
