Although it does take some time, the recipe is simple and good.

I made this without the mayo and I liked it much better.

This onion dip takes a little time to make (20 minutes to carmelize the onions -- be careful they burn quickly at the end .. but it is all worth it. This is the best onion dip I've ever had. I am making it again today ... but will definitely add more onions.

Like someone said, it's best if you make it a day ahead, and next time I think I'll use less mayo and more onion.

A little bland, and too sweet for guests. Would add salt and pepper to even it out.

Better than that famous dry onion dip mix, and I didn't think that was possible - it's really amazing how the onions will color the dip. Just be sure to make this a good day in advance; it really needs that much time to color and distribute the flavors.

This onion dip was really tasty. I made it for a bunch of my husband's friends and they ate it up! The only suggestion that I have (and it was request from my brother is that the amount of onions be increased. There wasn't an onion in every bite (even though we chopped them into small pieces and he felt that the bites without a piece of onion did not have enough oniony flavor. Still, it was delicious.
