At first recipe sounded long and involved. Not true. Recipe is very easy, and results are very satisfying.

This is easily the best cinnamon roll dough I have ever encountered. The dough itself practically melts in your mouth, which doesn't often happen with breads. The overall taste is heavenly and these disappear very quickly. The only thing I would modify is the cream cheese icing. When I made it, it wouldn't thicken at all, and I prefer my cinnamon roll icing not runny. But other than that minor issue, these rolls are amazing - and definitely worth waiting overnight for.

If you can't find instant yeast, don't use rapid rise or regular yeast. The difference is astounding! If you can't find instant yeast at the store, try amazon.com. (or go buy cinnabon

This is true with all of Altons recipes that call for instant yeast. (Pizza dough, etc.

This baking thing is kind of new to me and eventhough the cinnamon rolls goes through quite a few steps it's easy to make. My family and friends love it!!!...for the icing I use only half of the sugar...

I tivoed the episode and was so excited to make these, but my dough didn't rise and I should have stopped there, but I continued with the recipe and ended up with hockey pucks. I read that someone said to dissolve the yeast in milk because instant yeast is hard to find. I just used dry yeast, not the rapid rise one and it was the kind that comes in a packet of 3. I didn't know there was another kind. I might try this recipe again now that I know what I probably should have done.

I really enjoyed these cinnamon rolls, my only suggestion when making the icing is to add about 1 more tabelspoon of cream cheese to the sugar so its more creamy and not so sweet. The other think i would suggest is to make more of the cinnamon sugar mixture to the rolls so it has more of that cinnamon taste. And the other thing i noticed is the buns got kind of dry the next day so maybe add some more crisco to the roll mixture. overall my family and i loved them including my 3 year old son.

These cinnamon rolls get me rave reviews every time that I make them. My family loves them. A friend told me that I make better cinnamon rolls than the bakery.

Just as with Santa, I had blind faith in the mall cinnamon roll magic. My innocence is gone now. These are TRULY as good as Cinnabon (or other mall rolls! No exaggeration or star struck bias from me. These are every bit as gooey, oozy, sweet, and chewy! The only things I did differently were: 1 I cut Cinnabon-sized rolls & 2 I put softened butter on the dough instead of melted (avoids greasy dough. If you cut higher rolls, make sure to use higher sided pan. For those reviewers with yeast problems, make sure it's fresh. Also, if using ordinary dried yeast (since "instant" yeast is hard to find, you have to dissolve it first in the milk (whisk it well. And make sure your melted butter has cooled to room temp (if hotter than 110 F, it will kill the yeast.
