I?m always skeptical about cooking a steak anywhere other than over charcoal but this turned out to be surprisingly delicious. It?s a great quick meal. Next time I?ll get a little more creative with the seasoning, maybe some Cajon spice or a little bleu cheese. Definitely will make this one again.

They steak was tender and flavorful.

I followded up with some sherry in the hot pan, then 4 new potatoes, one onion and 3 cloves of garlic, 3 tbls canola oil. cook til onions started to soften. Then back into 500 degree oven for 10 minutes!!!

    It was all delicious!!!!

Yup...Alton's MY cooking guru. Have yet to try any recipe or method that didn't turn out perfect. Of course, it does depend on the quality of steak, but a simple, perfect method.

Not so much a recipe as a method, this simple proceedure is both fast and yields a perfect steak every time.

I just tried this recipe for the first time, and both my husband and I agree that this is the best way to cook steak...EVER!

It does smoke up your kitchen, but with the use of the exhaust fan and our heavy-duty stand fan, it disspated quickly enough.

While the steaks were resting, I took cold leftover mashed potatoes, made them into patties, and fried them up in the meat juices in the skillet. A most excellent accompaniment to the steak!

After watching the show, I decided to make myself dinner! Fried up some potatoes with it and I had a great meal. Alton makes cooking simple.

If not the best steak I've ever eaten, absolutely the best steak I've ever made, in spite of the smoke! Juicy, flavorful and cooked to perfection using the exact recipe. Bye, bye grill. The witty Mr. Brown certainly knows his stuff. Thanks, Alton.

Ok..I have to give credit where credit is due. In this house hubby walks around worshipping the ground Alton walks on. It's "AB" cooked this, this way..and honey next time you may want to try something "AB" did last night on his show..uggg!!! When he popped the tape in on the "steak episode" I was like..yeah yeah yeah..I am a DIE HARD "griller"!! But-I watched, gave in, and tried "AB the cooking gods way". I have to say..I will NEVER EVER cook a steak on the grill again! Foregt the fast, easy clean up and no standing in the heat on the deck- this was the BEST steak(s I have ever made. Hats off to you Alton, I have to give this one to you. THANKS!
