This steak was PERFECT!!! My hubby is a steak lover, so I am always trying to perfect steaks for him. He absolutely loved it and it looked beautiful! I will always cook steak this way. My oven did get a little smoky, but it was well worth it.

Best steak ever simple and delicious just like a steak should be and not too fussy. I had no issues with smoking and the cooking times posted with the recipe are perfect. My go to way to make a rib-eye!!! Yum!!

I just tried this recipe on my freshly seasoned new lodge cast iron skillet. It turned out perfect! I didnt have any problem with smoking at all. This was the most amazing steak I have ever had.

Agree on the incredible amount of smoke generated! Also, I would recommended adding 2 mins per side (for 4 mins total per side if you want medium steak. I added 1 minute and my steak was still very much medium-rare - even though it was thinner than the 1.5" suggested in the recipe.

Best Steak Ever!! I did not have the smoke problems others complained about in my apartment, but I had the windows open just in case. I adjusted the extra minute as suggested and my steak was perfectly medium. I will NEVER prepare a steak any other way!! Thanks Alton

This was AWESOME!! I have been trying to get my steaks like this for so long!! It did smoke a lot, but they turned out so good. They are really tender and he is right, you need to be generous with the salt. Thanks for the help!

I may never grill a ribeye again. Absolutely perfect. I added a little Montreal Steak seasoning and it was simply amazing.

Finally! I have been searching and searching for how to perfectly cook a beautiful steak. I should have known to go to Alton. This was soooo easy and cooked perfectly. Thank you Mr. Brown!

Crust it made was good, BUT, big BUT, is that I could only do one side because of all the smoke. I almost set off the sprinklers. I had to wait until all the smoke went away and finish off steaks under broiler. The one side of the steak I was able to do this way had a great crust, though. But this recipe just isn't practical unless you have big time kitchen fans.
