BEST WAFFLES EVER! This is my go-to waffles recipe and every time I make them people say they are their favorite waffles ever. The recipe is quick and easy, and I have never had a bad batch. This recipe is a sure thing! Love it!

These are the best waffles we've had in a long time. The flavor is excellent. They're much easier to make than recipes requiring the folding in of beaten egg whites and the texture is every bit as good as waffles made in that way. The recipe's a keeper.

These are some of the best waffles I have ever eaten. I used a Belgium waffle maker for this recipe. I read that some people had trouble with the waffles getting soggy. Just cook them until the steam stops coming out of waffle iron and the waffle is a deep golden brown. Serve immediately or store them in a warm oven. They are very easy to make and my family can't seem to get enough of them.

Our waffles turned out really soggy, and I wasn't crazy about the flavor. I was thinking the sour cream/pecans would be a unique twist, but I'm definitely going back to the old favorites... the Insanely Good Waffle recipe.

Make these waffles in my square Belgium Waffle maker and they are crispy on the outside (but not too crisp, soft on the inside. Make them almost every weekend now. Often leave out the pecans and sometimes mix blueberries or strawberries in the batter.... be careful as the fruit can make waffles stick to the pan.
Thanks Alton for this recipe.

These waffles were very heavy, not crisp unless you burnt them. Although they did have a good flavor but texture wise they were awful. I was very surprised b/c I generally like Alton Brown's recipes.

Just really uninteresting. Certainly wouldn't make them again. Maybe with the ice cream they would be better, but they should have been good on their own.

My husband received a cast iron waffle maker for Christmas. We christened it by making this recipe.
We were very impressed with the results.
Crisp outside and light and fluffy inside.
Will definitely make again!
