I have never been able to make good pie crust until I found this recipe. I put too much water in the first batch, but it still came out ok.

I am sure that it is just me. I do not know what consistancy to look for. It was flaky, but it also had a tough bite to it. I will keep trying, looking and testing.

I never thought I'd say I found a better receipe for pie crust than my Grandmother, and she was the queen of pastry, but this is easy to follow and turned out better in a head to head bake off. Thanks

Yum! This is my first really successful pie crust - I thought I was pie crust-deficient. I even added too much water so the dough was a little too sticky, but it came out great. THANKS!

i made my very first pie last night [it was elderberry] using alton brown's pie crust recipe. it turned out incredible! the crust was so flaky and light, and it had an excellent flavour. my guests were thoroughly impressed that my first pie tasted so great. :

instead of using lard, i used shortening because im a veggie. i also doubled the recipe, so that i could put a lattice on top of the pie.

i will definitely use this recipe again [and again]. :

Tender and flaky! And what a great idea to roll it out in a plastic zip-top bag! I saw something like it in a specialty store that was round with a zipper around it for $10.00 - to think I almost bought it!!! Best and easiest crust I've ever had! (sorry, Nana!

Absolutely bar none, the best pie crust I have ever made. And although I had to rough it with a pastry cutter, since no food processor was in sight, I was still amazed at the buttery flavor and the flaky texture. I actually liked the crust better than the rest of the pie, and pecan pie is my favorite.
