    I have made this cake several times and everyone loved it. It is also easy to make in a campfire dutch oven.

    I like the idea, it had an interesting texture, and the cake looked great. But I didn't think it was sweet enough. I think more syrup would be good. But if the old fashioned version is too sweet for you, this might be just the thing.

    This might be a good cake; however, my attempt was not. I set my timer for 45 minutes after seeing "50 minutes" at the top of the page. Later on(after I had already overcooked it, I found "35-45 minutes" in the text. The cake was not sweet enough, and it was dense. Also, how much "reserved syrup"? From a small can of pineapple slices, or a large can?
