While this is still clearly "health food" the bars are definitely tastier than anyhing from the store. It could use a dip in chocolate though. LOL. Anyway, about some of the past reviews I read concerning these bars: Soy protein is NOT NOT NOT the same as soy flour; Also, cook to temperature, not to time. At 35 minutes my batch was a big gloppy mess, at 205 degrees (which took nearly an hour in my oven they were very cake-like. These were not something I would make all of the time, but for an occasional snack with a small protein boost they hit the spot. I am hypoglycemic, so anything with more protein and fewer carbs is a good thing to me. Oh - one other thing. It felt like it took forever to make these, but when I glanced at the clock, the prep time of 25 minutes called for was right on. That is unusual.

Although I am sure these bars are very good for you they lacked appeal in flavour and texture. They were very heavy and hard to choke down even if you know it's good for you. I could not get the kids to take a second bite. It was an unfortunate waste of food and expense as most of it went into the compost.

Easy to make and don't taste like carboard, compared to the ones you buy in the store.

I made these for "healthy snack day" at work to rave reviews. I used cranberries, apricots, blueberries and golden raisins and firm silken tofu. They turned out great. And I got to go shopping in the bulk area at the local co-op which is always fun. Even those who claim to not like tofu were impressed. Will make these again, and again...

The only reason I'm giving this recipe 4 stars is because I couldn't find a couple of the ingredients, and had to make do with what was in the grocery store. I couldn't find silken tofu, so I used the only kind they had at the store, and put it in the blender with about 1/2 a cup of water (otherwise they would have come out chunky - yuck!. I also couldn't find unfiltered apple juice, so I had to use regular.
Other than the ingredient frustrations, these taste really good, and are great for a post-workout snack!

Very good. Not as dry as a power bar. More flavor.

I thought these would be gross... even as I was making them.
But, I am surprised as to how good they taste in the end. They still taste like health food, but better than anything I've picked up at the store. I'd definitely make these again.
Watch out though, protein powder isn't cheap, so if you aren't going to be through these in less than a week, freeze 'em!

These things are great. It was a little tricky finding all of the ingredients, but well worth the trouble. The bars are delicious with a consistency like a brownie, except they're healthy!
