    yes, very tasty and easy to make -- even for illiterate backwoods folks like Brett!

    I LOVE good eats and Alton Brown and all of his recipes but this is my favorite.

    Also, someone below said they wished the tv ingredient chart was typed up so they could try other new variations, too. So I copied that down here, if you're insterested...

    Meat (just one: Beef, Pork, Lamb, Fish, Chicken, other;
    Veggie: Mushrooms, Artichoke, Tomatoes, Peppers, Snowpeas, Broccoli, Bokchoy;
    Starch (optional, usually just one: Rice, Noodles, Potatoes, Couscous, Dumplings;
    Aromatic (never more than 2: Onion, Garlic, Scallions, Shallots, Celery, Fennel, Carrot;
    Seasoning (anything goes: Red pepper, White pepper, Honey, Salt, Pepper, Coliander, Cilantro, Lemon, Parsley, Basil;
    Liquids ("you can go heavy here": Soy sauce, Mirin (sweet rice wine, Vegetable broth, Sesame oil, Vermouth, White/Red wine, Chicken stock.

    I also suggest some of the other ideas for bowls (like preshaped foil containers at the store, or little pyrex dishes with foil covers and a punched hole, for ease. And if you make it a few times a week, chop up all the veggies and store in the fridge, maybe even measure, mix, and store the liquid beforehand...'cause I took way too long on prep when I thought it would be really fast and simple. But I'm also a newly married, college student, beginner cook that's not that skilled yet I guess...so it's probably a lot easier for most of you!

    Hope some of that was helpful. Happy eating,
    Krystal Wight Armstrong :

    Easy and tasty. Not to mention cheap to make. Only problem was that one of the packages leaked. I had to triple wrap it in foil. The sauce is really good.

    I watch the program, and I thought about it all morning. So I copied the recipe at work in the morning, and went to the store after work surprising the wife, we made the dish and man it was good. As usual great job Alton. Even the boy child like it....

    I love this and my kids (5,3, 1.5 do too. You can add anything you like and it's great. I personally use the flavor packets instead of veggie broth when I have to. I bought mirin for this and use it in everything now. Fast, easy, tasty, perfect!!!

    the base of this dish is a super versatile and can be altered to suit almost any taste. i'd been looking for an easy recipe for salmon ramen for some time, when i caught this episode of good eats. i followed the basic recipe, swapping salmon filets for shrimp. and since i'm not a fan of mushrooms, i opted for snap peas instead. it was quite the crowd pleaser. i'm giving it another go as i type!
