These scones were ok but when you make it i suggest adding more sugar because it wasn't sweet enough to me at least but besides that the recipe was pretty good.

I love Alton, his recipes are easy to understand & follow. I made these for a Bridal Tea and everyone enjoyed them. I added a mixture of dried berries and served devonshire cream and a variety of preserves. There were none left.

I made these for a British friend of mine. I had no idea how they would turn out, since I'd not made anything like them before (other than biscuits, of course. My friend liked them quite a bit, thankfully. I also made some Devonshire Cream to go with them, at his request. lol All in all, everyone was happy.

I've been searching for a scone recipe that made scones that were neither too sweet, nor too bitter and dry and this is the one. While they are sweeter than a "traditional" scone, no matter, they're perfect everytime and delicious. You can mix up the dried fruit and as a previous reader suggested, add lemon or orange zest. AB, you've done it again, this one is a keeper.

I cut them in different shapes for my tea party and the not only looked good they tasted good too. Kind of like a biscuit/cookie.

These are great and easy to make, my only suggestion, bake a bit longer.

Also great with a little lemon zest.

These were excellent scones. The dough was a bit sticky and hard to work with. I would have liked them with more than a handful of fruit, but then again I have somewhat small hands.

I've never been able to get scones to turn out.

These were very easy to make. They turned out very tender and tasty.

Not like the rocks I usually get.
