I've also been making this your the past few years. I use beef instead of lamb and edamame instead of peas. I also omit the Rosemary, as I'm not a fan of it. Delicious!!

I used ground beef instead of lamb and this is a nice, filling tasty meal on a cold day!

THE BEST SHEPERD'S PIE EVER !! I fed this to some British people the other night and three of them asked for seconds. As another review said, it's the fresh herbs that make it. I made it the day before then reheated it when I had my dinner party .... like lasagne, it's better the second and third day. I always serve gravy on the side ... Thanks Alton, you know how to do it right !!

This was delicious; the whole family loved it! I used half beef and half lamb and just sort of eye-balled the measurements...it was perfect. The fresh herbs added such a nice depth of flavor. I wouldn't change a thing!

Very delicious! My dad said it was the best thing I've made. I used a meatloaf mix of ground beef, pork and veal. I also tripled the garlic, but I always add more garlic than a recipe calls for. I also added extra fresh thyme and rosemary because they add such nice flavor.

Easy to follow recipe ... I only subbed a beef and pork mixture for the lamb. Really liked how light it felt in comparison to so many other Shepard's Pie recipes I've tried that left you feeling heavy at the end of the meal. Family loved it! Will happily make again soon!

This is a simple and delicious recipe! I used ground beef as well, added more chicken stock, and tomato paste to make it a bit saucier. Also, I mashed the potatoes with milk instead and added a tad a sour cream. DELICIOUS!

This recipe was so delicious! I have made it a couple times. I didnt have half and half the last time so i just used milk. the potatoes didnt come out as rich, so i like it better with half and half, but it still tasted good. I also use ground beef instead of lamb and it still tast great.

When I first saw the episode for this recipe, I knew I wanted to try it. It looked delicious! I didn't want to buy lamb so I used ground beef, and it turned out fine. My family decided that they didn't like the peas, because it was sweet right in the middle of savory, but otherwise it is a great recipe!
