Oh My, Meat pie!! Wowie. Beautiful combination of spices and flavors in this dish. I used left-overs of our lamb roast instead of ground lamb. Stayed true to the recipe with everything else. My picky husband loved it, as did I. We both had seconds : This one is a keeper - big time! Thanks Mr. Brown!!!

This recipe was wonderful!!! I substituted the lamb for 1lb of ground beef and 1/2 lb of ground pork. I also increased the garlic by 1 or 2 cloves. It came out excellent! My husband raved about it.

This recipe was great! I substituted ground beef for the lamb and it still turned out really great. I would definitely recommend this to anyone!

Amazing. I used ground beef and cream instead of half and half.

This was delicious. My boyfriend had been asking for me to make Shepard's Pie for a while now. Whenever I try a new recipe he is always the official taste tester. I was a little more nervous when he asked me to make this one becuase his family is from the UK. I knew it was good when he went up for seconds and thirds. Even I went up for seconds. I followed the recipe except for a few changes to fit my personal preference and what I had in the fridge. I love garlic. I used six cloves of garlic instead of two. I had dried herbs and used them with no shame. I do not think it took away from the overall product. I don't eat red meat or pork. After I read almost all of the user reviews, I noticed many people thought this recipe would work with any meat, so I tried it. I used ground turkey and it turned out really good! I recommend it for any of you who are picky like me.

This is yummy!! Used hamburger instead of lamb, and then had it postpone serving until next day and hadn't made mashed potatoes yet, so served meat mixture over toasted roll (a-la-king style and it was great!

I don't like Rosemary at all...so I will omit it. Just watching Alton and the actors in this skit was enough for me...Superb!! I can't get enough of this show and Alton's genius! Thank you!

I used ground beef instead of lamb, and it came out great! My family loved it. I read a post that said the amount of rosemary in the dish was overwhelming, so I added like half a teaspoon, but I could still taste the rosemary and the dish smelled strongly of rosemary, but it didn't disturb the taste of the overall dish. I'm glad I didn't put the full amount. I also added a lot more seasoning (salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce to add more flavor.
