Simple to make, and tasty! I didn't have fresh nutmeg so I used nutmeg from a container and that worked. Even my 1 year old enjoyed it.

I can always depend on Alton Brown's recipe's to be five star taste and his butternut squash soup is no exception. Very easy, simple actually, and it tastes like you work endlessly all day long. A must try! Will use this recipe over and over again -- just loved this soup -- thanks Alton, you are the best!

Like a lot of other reviewers, this was my first attempt at butternut squash soup. It made me feel like a "soup-er star!" *Sorry.* I didn't have any honey on hand, so I substituted maple syrup, and also had to drop fresh ginger for the stuff in my spice rack. It was delicious! It was also a cinch to freeze, and tasted just as lovely a few weeks later. Thanks, Alton!

Great soup! First time I ever had butternut squash soup. It was slightly terrifying cutting the tough outer skin of the squash, could easily lose a finger in the process, but Alton's chisel technique from the video worked well! I gave some of the leftovers to some friends of my mother's and they really enjoyed as well. Overall, nice recipe!

I made this for Thanksgiving .... the bomb... Doubled the cream, ginger and finished it off with green onions and apple wood bacon. Served with a piece of crusty bread with lots of fresh parmesan melted on top.
