*this is from my daughter*
I made this recipe and it is GREAT. I couldn't stop eating it. It's great. YO should try it with instead of dry mustard use curry powder and don't put any hot sauce. Its even better.

This is simply the best macaroni and cheese recipe I've ever made. It is quite rich, but delicious, cheesy and easy to make!

I loved it. To save a few calories I left out the butter and used evaporated skim milk. I didn't skimp on the cheese though. I came out great. My daughter, however, still likes the boxed product better. 7 year olds, no taste.

I find myself once again turning to Alton Brown to help surprise, and delight my family at dinner.
It is amazing how many of his recipes have now become our traditional favourites.
And the fact that many are simple enough for someone like myself, makes it all the better! I have been recovering from a major surgery, that brought about a massive stroke.
A double whammy!
So complicated, tricky recipes accompanied by hours at the stove have been beyond me. But the desire to be a REAL Mom has never left. I need to nourish both the bodies, and the minds of my children. No illness can take that need away.
How empowering to bring hot, tasty, and nutritious meals to the table!
Even better is the fact that this recipe is simple enough that even my youngest children can help.
Now we are all learning, and healing together.
How wonderful is that?! Thanks Alton!

I normally can only stand mac-n-cheese from a box. My wife can't stand the box mixes. AB's Mac-n-cheese recipe is something we both agree on; it's outstanding.
However, it's heavy; don't go eatting too much of it...

Everyone loved this when I made it. The sauce is thick and creamy, without the gritty feel you often get with Mornay sauces. Depending on the cheese you use it may turn out too cheesy, so I start out with a little and add more if needed after tasting.

I love using this recipe for dinners for my family, but I must admit that if it's just the kids eating mac and cheese, I still do the box. But Alton's is 150% better!

I've never been a big macaroni and cheese fan, but after trying this easy to make sub for the "Blue Box" you'll never go back. My wife, who's very picky about her mac & cheese, was very impressed. Can't wait to try Alton Brown's baked variety.

I think the results of this recipe were pretty good, better than the store bought stuff. But I don't think that it deserves a four or five because it didn't really grab me as spectacular. Maybe I'm being unfair, as it is just cheese & macaroni essentially, but still. I will say that I didn't have any of the problems that were mentioned by some others. It looked runny at first, but after a little bit of time on the stove and some stirring, it thickened up pretty well.
