Great alternative if you don't have time to make baked Mac and cheese. I love that it is healthier than the powder box stuff. It is much healthier and better with no preservatives. My son and hubby love it. I do leave out the extra spices for a 6 year old pallet. I have made this many times. Alton, great recipe.

I will never shake a packet of powdered cheese over pasta for my kids when I could make this instead. Just to kick in some veggies, we added leftover cooked broccoli. Thank you, thank you, Alton!!!

I have to admit the eggs in the recipe turned me off from trying this in the past but now I'm glad I did! If was so easy and came together so quickly. Delicious! will make 1/2 recipe with macaroni I have left in box.

Delicious! My 4 year old twin daughters are generally very picky eaters. It's hard to find stuff that they like. This is the only mac n cheese recipe they liked that didn't come from a Kraft box. Good job Alton. This takes the cake

I thought this was pretty good--but I'm still searching for that perfect mac 'n cheese recipe. The only problem with this recipe is that I could taste the dry mustard seasoning in the finished product. That might be my fault--maybe my dry mustard is substandard, or maybe I used too much since I was overconfident about eyeballing a 3/4 full teaspoon (vs. measuring with two measures, the 1/2 and the 1/4 tsp. Still, I'm not sure that should have made it taste so mustard-y. But I made it twice and it was the same both times. I love Alton Brown and will try his other Mac 'n Cheese recipe...

Much better than the boxed mac & cheese! It was easy to do and was a huge hit. The first time I made it, I used sharp cheddar instead of english cheddar and it was a bit too much. But that was my fault. It also can be reheated the next day if there are leftovers.
