    Don't waste your time with these cookies. I wasted two batches of them because they turned out dry and crumbly. I followed every direction and measurement and still threw them out both times.

    Not good... do not use powdered sugar for rolling. Very bland and dry.

    Excellent! The best sugar cookies made for icing. I added a tablespoon of vanilla extract for extra flavor.

    These are my favorite cookies at Christmas time. I love making up different flavors with extracts and spices, and dying them with food color or colored sugars. They're fun to make and delicious to eat. My favorite modification is to add some peppermint extract and then roll into a log which I roll in colored sugar before slice 'n' baking.

    If you're planning to eat these right off the pan with no icing then this is not the sugar cookie recipe for you..

    However, if you are planning to decorate them and cut them out, This was the best recipe I've ever used.

    I've ALWAYS had issues with sugar cookies. Always fall apart and spread out way too much when I'm trying to make cookie cut-outs.

    The dough cut nicely, and they turned out firm but still crumbly and melt in your in your mouth.. The icing on it just made them perfect.

    The only reason this recipe doesn't get five stars is because it said I should put the dough in the fridge for two hours.. I did that and actually had to thaw it! (and no, my fridge isn't turned up too cold.. I think maybe 20 minutes and it would have been perfect.

    really disappointed, I followed the recipe by measurement and I can actually taste the flour more so than the sugar, luckily a heavy coat of lemon icing spruced them up. I won't be making this recipe again tho.

    These were just okay. I made the recipe according to the specifications and didn't change any of the measurements. They were kind of bland and not very sweet. The texture was good. I added some pistachios and dried cherries and that was the only reason they were good.

    I made these last night and they were delicious and easy! I did read the other reviews re: needing extra flavor, so I made them lemon cookies. Simply delicious!
