My 8 year old daughter and I made these sugar cookes and cut them out into cute Christmas shapes. What I did do differently was to add nutmeg. We LOVE nutmeg at this home so there is never too much of it! It gave it just that extra "aaahhh" effect!
They held well in the oven and turned out to be the best sugar cookies we had ever made!! Thanks so much for such a great recipe!!

I love the way he takes something as wonderful as cooking and simplifies into pure science. This recipe was so easy and quick. I can spend most of the time enjoying decorating them with my kids.

The dough seemed a good consistensy when I was mixing it, and it held up very well when I was rolling it out, but once the cookies were baked, a lot of them broke when I was taking them off the cookie sheet.
They do, however, taste really good. Less flour next time, and maybe I little less baking time.

This recipe was so simple and it turned out fabulous. It seemed to be too floury when I made the dough, but it turned out perfect. I also tried adding some peppermint extract to half the batch. It made them taste even better, and the mint flavor wasn't overwhelming, just a nice accent. No icing needed. I found that it wasn't as important as the recipe say to keep it super cool while rolling. I just rolled them out normally after refrigerating for a few hours, and they came out fine.

The dough is perfect - not too sweet. I used half powdered sugar and half flour to keep the surface dry. The icing is the best consistency I've ever used- incredibly easy to work with.

These cookies are very tastie. Not only that they are very easy to make. This was the first time I have ever made sugar cookies and I am going to add it to my regular cookie list.
