I added some lemon zest to the mix. My frosting is powered sugar and fresh lemon juice. So So yummm! This is the best sugar cookie recipe out there. Thanks Alton!

After google-ing for a half hour sugar cookie recipes and comparing, I decided to try Alton's (c'mon, I mean, It's Alton!. I am very impressed! I used almond milk & added just a touch of vanilla. I also had some lemons on hand, so I divided the dough in half & added a little lemon zest in one. Rolled them out with some sugar & everything was perfect! I am definitely excited that I tried this recipe!

Awesome cookies! Some folks stated that it was crumbly, you must work the dough a bit after it has been refrigerated. Works great for detailed cookie cutters; so it does not change it shape from what you cut out during the baking process. They are just sweet enough so that when you frost the cookies you are not left with a horrible sugar bite.

Great recipe to make with the kids on a snowday! I swapped vanilla for the milk with no ill effects. Super quick so more time could be spent decorating!

I made this recipe eggless by substituting vanilla greek yogurt for the egg. I ended up using the dough to make thumbprint cookies that I filled with raspberry jam. They were delicious!

The dough turned into a dry crumbled mess... And very bland.

I liked these cookies, although there wasn't much taste. I wouldn't say that these were the best sugar cookies I have ever made, but I wouldn't say they were the worst either. Also, maybe it was just my mixer, but my cookie mixture turned out crumbly, I had to knead it to make it into one lump.

Best sugar cookies I have ever made. I did add 2 tsp of vanilla paste for extra flavor. It was a hit at my daughter's princess party.
