No problem with the meatballs, the recipe worked well, but the sauce was terribly bland, and I added allspice to it. I can't imagine how tasteless it would have been without it. I will look for what other spice to add to the sauce to make it better, otherwise, this would be an awesome recipe.

Although I am not sweedish, I find this recipe to work every time. I think by definition sweedish meatballs are a very traditional subtly tasting pork veal meatball. If you need them kicked up with adobe than you are not looking for a sweedish style meatball. this is a lovely comforting change of pace. I have made patties with lots of gravy and served with mashed potatoes but my favorite way is the traditional meatball served over home made spaetzel noodles. yum

Great I have made this many times. I find some chopped mushrooms in the gravy make it even better and I like them over mashed potatoes.

I have used this recipe twice already. The meatballs and sauce are delicious! Perfect seasoning and consistency. The only thing I do differently is use ground turkey. Very easy and fast meal to prepare, I recommend giving it a try. Served with mashed potatoes and lingonberry sauce, it's a perfect dinner!

Terrible. This recipe didn't even work. I did everything it said to - to the letter - and ended up with very thin gravy and meatballs that were completely raw in the center. I'm livid. Fail. Absolute fail.

Edit: The video makes a LOT more sense. The written recipe doesn't have any of the IMPORTANT details in it.

Great recipe only change I made was adding sour cream instead of cream at the end for the sauce.I sometimes make them into patties instead of meatballs and serve it with mashed potatoes...very good.

Again, a very solid recipe. I've made this a few times and while it has a subtle flavor, I don't understand the reviews calling it bland. People are adding different sorts of ingredients to liven it up (adobo and pepper flakes to name a few but I keep true to the recipe with maybe an extra grind or two of black pepper. However, I like fettucine alfredo a lot and it's pretty bland.

I was raised in a household that observed Swedish traditions, including food. Potato sausage, ost kaka, bond ost, Swedish rye bread, and Swedish meatballs, prepared by my mom, were all part of our regular dinner menu.

I must admit, I like this Swedish meatball recipe (gulp better than my mom's meatballs. I shared these meatballs with my sister and my niece and her family at Christmas time and got rave reviews.

I baked them on a rack in a 350 degree oven instead of using a fry pan. I set my digital meat themometer on the pork setting (170 degrees and baked them until their centers reached that temperature. Baking gave them a slightly crusty outside, something my family found to their liking.

My first try at making Swedish meatballs for the Superbowl.
I had to add more salt, and added some adobo as well; I tried a meatball in my first batch and it tasted bland. After I adjusted the seasoning with the meatballs, the sauce was really good and thickened up well. Will make again!
