I absolutely loved this pie. The only advice I can give is to make sure that you have the pie shells on hand, my mother though roll out pie dough would do, but it's too big.

I liked this pie, but it didn't taste as much like pumpkin pie as I'd heard. You've got to be careful to cook the sweet potato enough - otherwise the texture will be all wrong.

Before this, i never had sweet potato pie before. It was pretty good. I'll definitely make it again.

I have made this pie four times so far. Each has turned out perfectly and I have had no left overs. The whole family prefers this over pumpkin pie and was a tremendous hit at our church function. Would recommend this pie at any place that a pumpkin pie would be served. The ease of preparation and custard like taste is a sure keeper.

I loved this pie! But I did make two minor changes to the recipe.

After reading a number of negative reviews that mentioned a sour or unpleasant yogurt taste in this recipe, I opted to use vanilla yogurt instead of plain. I also used 2.5 teaspoons of Penzey's pumpkin pie spice instead of nutmeg and cinnamon. It was excellent.

Do again, send to all my friends, make it for company, wonderfully good. Not at all cloyingly sweet, this is a sweet potato pie where a person can actually taste the ingredients and not just sugar. The addition of the yogurt brightens the flavor, while the brown sugar and the maple syrup makes the pie richly warm and delicious.

Being a below-average to average cook, I always like to try Alton's recipes since they seem almost fool proof. I was NOT disappointed with this recipe. I didn't know what to expect. It was VERY pumpkiny and LOVED that. VERY easy to make and it felt nice making something homemade for Thanksgiving. GOOD STUFF!
