HELP, was I supposed to defrost the pie shell before pouring the filling in, because I did and after baking the crust was not cooked! I cooked it for 55 minutes, the filling was delicious, but the crust was very soggy!

I liked the pie, but unlike everyone who rated in the same way I did, i thought that the pie was too sweet and not enough spices in it. I had a sweet potato pie from the south once, and it was amazing. THis was very sweet. Some people liked it, some didn't...guess it depends on if you were expecting something like pumpkin pie...I think I will stick to that and then play around with the spices. I didn't mind the yogurt at all.

Being a good southern gal I have eaten sweet potatoes in every way possible. This pie is okay... To me it was pretty but the taste did not match. so take the nut and syrup idea and put it on a better pie.

I made this for Thanksgiving just as directed but the family did not like it much. It was too tart with the yogart. Next time I think I will substitute cream for half the yogart in hopes that it won't be as tart.

I made this for Thanksgiving. It was not only easy to make, but delicious. It will become a staple dessert at all of our Holiday Dinners.

Alton's version of sweet potato pie was absolutely the best I've ever tried. I made it for Thanksgiving and, to save time, I bought pecans that were flavored for topping a pecan pie instead of roasting my own. The maple syrup was a neat touch -- just a hint of sweet. It tastes wonderful both warm and cold!!

This was a very easy recipe to follow. I chose to try this as an alternative to higher caloric recipes, and I was very pleased. I think the yogurt gives it the zing it needs. I didn't have pecans on hand, so I used almonds and I must say it was a good choice.

My first attempt at this pie was pretty good. It was a little mild tasting, nothing stood out. I have a feeling I could have streamed the potatoes a little longer, which may have made the pie a little sweeter (starch to sugar conversion concept?
I also might beat it longer. I'm sure if I like it being not a smooth as pumpkin pie or not. The chunky made for a nice texture, but I think I might beat it longer to get it a little smoother.

I have always HATED sweet potatoes since I was a child. But this was absolutly the BEST pie!! Not too sweet but light and very, very flavorful! The only thing we did different was to put it into a shortbread cookie crust. I would highly recommend it!! And super easy to make too. Gotta love that Alton! This was definitely GOOD EATS!!! Thanks...
