I modified this to our tastes and left out the cornstarch, which wasn't essential to the outcome. Also added a pinch of organic stevia to balance the hot with a hint of sweet. After I made the first recipe, I made up another big batch to keep handy in my pantry! Love this recipe!

Wish I had read the reviews earlier. WAY too much salt. I will cut it in 1/2 next time.

Really good seasoning! I think it's just perfect like it is. Since I seen this recipe this is all I use to season the meat for my tacos.

I agree, just a tad too much salt, but the overall flavor was amazing! Next time, I will cut the salt a bit, and I expect it will then be perfection.

I just made this and have to say it was the best ever! I didn't use any salt, however I did salt the onions I put in with the beef when I browned it, just a little, about a 1/2 teaspoon and it came out amazing. I only used about half of the mix for about 3/4 lb of beef. I have never, EVER gone wrong with one of Alton's recipes. Simply the best.

It was great except for the salt. Way too salty. The second time I cut the salt in 1/2 and it is the best.

Good Flavor, but the whole family agreed it's Way too salty. Will try again, minus 1 Teaspoon of Kosher Salt, & see if further adjustment is needed. My husband asked for beef taco's & loved these.

YUMMY! At the suggestion of another reviewer, I mixed this up in a few minutes and used one tsp of this in lieu of the Mexican Spice Blend for Tyler Florence's Chicken Enchiladas and it tasted amazing! I will DEFINITELY use this for my next taco night. I try to be conscientious of my sodium intake and so only used half of the amount of salt. Also, I was too cheap to go out and buy ground coriander just for the occasion, so I left it out and it was still DELICIOUS. Won't ever buy another taco seasoning packet again! Thank you!
