I will never again buy "seasoning" which is mostly salt. This is great!

Excellent seasoning! There is nothing in this mix that will go bad in one month. Spices are usually good for 6 months. I tripled the recipe and keep jar in my spice rack. I added a little oregano (about 1 tsp. to the mix because oregano is a traditional Mexican herb - I liked it even better with that small addition, just make sure you use Mexican oregano.

I too believe Alton Brown Is a food god. My little brother made me an apron for christmas that says WWAD What Would Alton Do. I sadly have no cable and am really just curious if he actually used chili powder from the store or used his home made chili powder. I can only imagine...

After living in the Southwest all our lives, we moved to upstate New York in the early '70s. Imagine our outrage when we discovered they had never heard of Tex-Mex food, and didn't have any Mexican restaurants. We even drove to Mexico, New York, thinking surely there they would have such a restaurant.

No such luck. We were forced to fend for ourselves and quickly learned how to make our own tacos, using the commercial packet of seasoning--you know the one I mean.

Taco Potion #19 is a godsend (literally, because my family teases me that Alton Brown is my cooking god, and really fulfills our needs. Now we can really consider ourselves authentic Gringo Mexican afficionados.

    Thanks from all of us.
