Add (to taste chopped, fresh red chili peppers (the finger size variety to the recipe. I made this last year (had to substitute the frozen cranberries for the whole canned variety and added the chili pepper to half the batch as an experiment and after tasting the results ended up combining the non-spicy variety with the spicy. Great for dipping and coating. Trying it as a glaze this year (2008.

Made this for Thanksgiving last year and it was such a smash we had it again for Christmas! If you find it to be too bitter, as we did, substitute 8oz cranberries for bagged frozen cherries. Delicious!

I agree with others that it was kind of tart, but it also had a sweet element that didn't appeal to my taste. Also, I prefer cranberries that are a little more solid - this recipe is thinner than gravy.

I made this dipping sauce for Thanksgiving. It's fantastic with turkey, but it also makes a great fresh cranberry martini when mixed with vodka!

This was way too tart for my liking, and I guess I prefer a sauce that isn't a liquid. It was definitely easy to make, but next year I'll just stick with a basic cranberry sauce recipe. So all in all, this recipe is great if you want a really tart, liquidy sauce!

I have MS and watch the food network alot since retiring from the Charlotte Meck Police Dept as a dispatcher. I have Lupus and haven't been able to drive for the past five years or I don't drive because I started having seizures and TIA's. I really enjoy Alton, Paula and the Iron Chef series and love this recipe. It's so good not just for the holiday seasons but, also for pork dishes and any poultry I would think. Thank all of you for your wonderful recipes and I would love to be able to cook like you all. I think I might take a cooking course if I could remember everything. I have started using garlic and all fresh herbs and my family loves it. Again, may I thank all of you for your knowledge and very enjoyable shows.

    God Bless,

I can't say that I have ever considered going without my block o cranberry ridges but since I trust Alton Brown with a whole lot of my cooking I thought I would give the tart cranberry sauce a whirl. WOW my family who is not cranberry inclined was so happy with this recipe that I've made it outside of Thanksgiving and it flies. I love this recipe and I love the fact that it has texture but isn't grainy, it has to be one of the best and truly simple recipes out there.

I really enjoyed this clever alternative to can-shaped red goo on Thanksgiving. The main problem I had was that kids wouldn't touch it and most grownups were too confused about what it was to try it. Personally, I found it a little too tart. Some tweaking might be necessary for next year, but I'd give it another shot in a smaller batch. It was excellent with Lefse.
