According to the written recipe, it calls for 12 ounces (11/2 cup of bread flour....REALLY?? I then watched the little video to see what went wrong...He "says" 2 1/2 cups of the flour?!?! They came out flat and runny...waste of time :(

These are very good. I love the fact that they are soft without the use of vegetable shortening (which I will never use I used organic white wheat flour and raw sugar. Perfect!

OMG these cookies are so good!!!! absolutely marvelous, i am eating a hot one fresh from the oven while I write this. The base bread flour recipe is superb, I use it with all sorts of add-ins. My favorite is 3/4 cup chopped pecans and 5 chopped up mini heath bars. Alton's recipes are always the best.

I made these twice and they beat the recipe on the choc-chip bag hands down, but I think it misses a trick. May 2009, Cooks Illustrated published a recipe that is suspiciously similar (anyone else think they borrow a lot of stuff from Alton?, using all the same tricks (more brown sugar than white, more yolks than eggs, melted butter, but they added one step: BROWN the butter. It makes a big difference. The problem is you can't just do that to this recipe without making other changes because it cooks off some water and throws proportions off. But you can find the original - which may or may not be behind a paywall, depending on your google skills.

Forget the recipe on the chocolate chip bag. This recipe makes the perfect chewy cookie.

These are pretty good but to make them very moist bake for 10 mins at 350. Real easy recipe although.

These were good, but did not live up to the hype. I didn't think they were really much better than other chocolate chip cookies I've had.
