LOVED IT!! I've tried it with all different kinds of chips and so far my favorite is with White Chips. I made a batch for my Christmas Party and drizzled Altons Pomegranate Syrup/Molasses over them and they were DIVINE!!! Thanks so much for both recipes Alton!

I've been baking all day and here is what I've learned about this cookie:
    1. Use a baking sheet that has an air cusion and your cookies will not spread out as much-they will look more like the picture.
    2. I Baked at 350 degrees in convection oven (325 degrees-375 is too hot. In regular oven don't go over 350 degrees.
    3. The cooking time at the top of the recipe page says "30 minutes", however, it's only 13 to 15 minutes per batch with a rotation of cookie sheets half way through. I made the mistake on first batch of cooking 30 minutes and rotating 15 minutes in-burnt them all-threw them away.
    4. Parchment paper doesn't make the cookies spread out as much as a silpat cooking sheet does. Use parchment and your cookies will be fatter-more like the ones in the picture.
    5. Using a 1" cookie baller, you can get 8 cookies to a sheet - they end up being 3" across when done baking.

Made these for a family party this weekend. They were a huge hit. I didn't have any bread flour so used AP flour and they were fine. I used a mix of semi sweet, milk and white chocolate chips because I had small amounts left of each. I think these will become my go to ccc recipe. Thanks Alton!

I have made this recipe since it was first aired and posted. It is the only chocolate chip cookie I make.

I loooove these cookies, I've made them about 3-4 times. But I wish they were as chewy as some store bought cookies that I've eaten. With all the science behind this recipe, I was stoked to make them the first time, but despite my best efforts, they're not as chewy as chips ahoy chewy or brownie cookies! Chewier Alton! I need them chewier!

How good is this cookie? I made the recipe and brought them into work along with another cookie recipe that I made. The chocolate chip cookies were all eaten warp speed. Everyone that I saw eating one had a euphoric look in their eyes at first bite. They all threw their heads back, closed their eyes and said "MMMM."

This recipe is the best for chewy chocolate chip cookies hands down!! These were thick and chewy everything you want in a cookie. Thank you Alton!!! I would give this 10 stars if I could. The only change I made was I used Hershey's Special Dark chocolate chips instead (it was what I had on hand

O-M-G!! Just made them and they are delicious, hubby LOVED them he said thumbs up! He is not patient so instead of chilling for 1 hr, I put the dough in the freezer for about 25 min, mixing it halfway thru. Came out perfect! Really, really good. =

These cookies rock! I agree with the other posters on shortening the cook time. I baked them for 12/13 min. on a silpat but will try the 10 min. suggestion to avoid the overly crispy edges that I trimmed off. I also used chunks of dark chocolate instead of chips and it worked out fantastic.
