My new favorite! For the people that had problems, you need to invest in a scale if your going to do AB recipes. I followed it to a tee and they came out great.

Thank all of you that put in the measurements, Your right I only used 2 cups of oatmeal when it should have been about six, I am one that ended up with a puddle lol. oh well will try again and sure with all of your help they will turn out great. I soaked mine in Tattoo rum the flavor was great even in a puddle but I'm sure they will turn out great. Thank all you ladies that clairified everything.

They are indeed very "oat-y" and that's a good thing. Mine didn't spread out as much as other people commented but they were very crumbly. Also, I used dried cherries instead of raisins. I would definitely try making them again and recommend them for anyone who likes oatmeal cookies.

I weighed everything--I always do!--and my dough even looked like the dough on the show. Prepared by some of the reviews here, I made my cookies slightly smaller and placed them farther apart on the cookie sheet....and they still spread far too much and ran together. I think I'm going back to my regular oatmeal recipe, which includes wheat flour, because now I'm convinced that the gluten is there with good reason.

I will, however, continue to soak my raisins in rum!

Alton. Dude. I respect your desire for accuracy, but PLEASE include volumetric measurements as well. My cookies spread flat, and solidified into one.

I cut the recipe in half and omitted the white sugar. Very Tasty. Love the toasty flavor. I echo the comments about too crumbly. Needs a bit more of something to bind it together.
    I weighed all ingredients.

These taste great! And good for you. My batter was a little dry so I just added some milk until it was more moist. And they didn't spread out on the cookie sheet so I flattened them a little so they cooked more evenly. Worth the effort!
