Thank God for a great chocolate chip cookie recipe other than tollhouse. My husband likes it thin and I like it chewy. Kosher salt makes a difference and the play on the sugars really determines thin and chewy cookies. Mahalo, Mahalo, Mahalo

I always make these cookies for family gatherings, and they are always gone within the first day.

These cookies were fabulous, but after I finished making them, I got a bill from Neiman-Marcus for $250 for the use of their recipe! Alton, what have you done?!?

I've never felt compelled to write a review until now. I just baked these and they are amazing- Crunchy & Gooey at the same time. I sprinkled toasted coconut on each cookie after 5 min. of baking time and then baked another 4 minutes. Also, I took one reviewers suggestion and increased the vanilla to 2 tsp. and I also kept the dough in the refrigerator between batches. I used Ghirardelli semi-sweet choc. chips. My kids love these cookies as much as I do. Food Network- keep Alton Brown employed- love his show and recipes- thanks!

These are the best chocolate chip cookies ever! I have tried sooo many recipes but I always come out with a puffy cookie :( This recipe makes thin, delicious, crisp on the edge, soft in the center cookies! (Suggestion: I thought the amount of baking soda was perfect, but if baking soda is sensitive to your taste buds try using half the amount instead. This will be my one and only chocolate chip cookie recipe!

These cookies are easy to make and taste great. The only thing I can say is when you put them on the cookie sheet smash them flat and they will bake flat and some what crispy.
