I had never made a turkey before, and my first time would be our 12 person family gathering. I used this recipe - PERFECTION!

This year will be the third year I have used this recipe. Toss out the instructions that come with the bird, toss that plastic stick that pops out when the turkey is done (by then it is way dry anyway and just use this recipe. It really locks in the moisture and I have never roasted a turkey that tastes better than this one. After watching an episode of "Good Eats", for the first time EVER last year I did not stuff the bird but cooked the stuffing outside of the bird and it was moist and flavorful. Thanks Alton, your recipes are true gems.

My Dad has used this recipe for thanksgiving for many years. When I got married seven years ago I carried on the tradition. This is the most delicious turkey I have ever had and every year it gets better. Very easy to understand and replicate. Everyone should be using this recipe when they make a turkey!

Best turkey ever!! So moist and tasty. Follow the cooking instructions with the thermometer and forget the package cooking times. You wil use this from now on if you do it once.

I have followed this recipe for a few years since seeing Alton prepare it on good eats. Really is not hard at all, and the Turkey comes out amazing. Family and friends are always impressed and leftovers are hard to find.

After cooking turkey other ways for years, I have used this recipe 3-4 times and it is the best and easiest way to get a flavorful and moist turkey that everyone raves about!
